Dig for Victory

Is it not a strange fact that solutions we found in 1939 to 1945 to problems we have now, have not been learned fully. Our schools have sort of given up on our own history.

Food Miles are causing carbon emissions, we are buying foodstuffs (Vegetables) that we can grow ourselves, and the net effect of this is important in other areas too, such as water use, large scale commercial growing using millions of gallons of processed water which uses energy. Grow you own, in your garden, the water comes from a water butt, off your roof.

You can make a real difference. Sharing bath water, taking showers, reducing water use, reduces energy use, the water indusrty is a major energy using.

The other aspect was war bonds, why has the government not issued “recession bonds” , bonds which invest in British Business, on a par with gilts, taking finace direct to small businesses which need help now to support companies to grow and employ people now.

The final part was the recyling that took place, the effort that was put in.
