Enterprise

This week I attended a function organised by Enterprise-Ireland, and here is an organisation that understands the growth potential of helping SME’s, – these companies grow the economy create employment, which increases Tax Revenues, and behold the double whammy, reduces unemployment and reduces Benefit Payments.

Other countries need to think hard about this, and big companies too, for every customer you gain from a competitor you plus one and minus one from them, a change of two.

The art of good customer service, is about empowering those on the frontline, I was once told that I was too simplistic, too idealistic, and in fact bordering on the naive, when I suggested a “Business Opportunity”, I was told that because it generated no revenue, cost the company money to implement that it was against every principle of good business, after ten weeks it was dropped.

Four months later, a batch of people that had benefited from the free service, started to renew their service, wondered why they could not have this module, those that knew the cost of running these simple service, had no concept of its value in engaging the customers not of the cost saving later in its implementation.
