Thinking outside the box – Really

I once had a lecturer that was such a Genius, that he was completely and utterly mad.

This well rounded character explained thinking outside the box, and actually owned the box of which you speak.

His was SUN yellow 1m x 1m x 1m in size, made of cardboard, and within it were smaller blue boxes that fitted perfectly in 5 layers of 5×5, 125 in total.

His theory was that there was nothing new under the sun, so everything exists, we just have not found it, the yellow box represented that.

He then let you choose anyone one of these 125 boxes, this represents everything that we collectively know to date, however the surprise was open this box and there were 125 more (Smaller white boxes), making the total 15625, choose anyone of these and it represents what we know individually.

So the answer is to stop trying to think outside the boxes because that contains nothing, but look into the next box for the solution because that is were it might me.

I thought of him last week because his theory was sort of confirmed, the finding of the Higgs Boson, It was there under the sun in the Big Yellow Box, we had just not found it, now we have labelled a little white box with a contents list – Higgs Boson. Who knows what we will find in the next little white box, but I do know, someone is looking
